Shanon

Shanon McAuliffe, CPDT-KA, began working with Churchville Veterinary Clinic, Inc. as a trainer in June 2009. Her focus is to provide her clients and their dogs with the means to forge a better relationship, without the exasperation that has been encountered by many trying to find answers. The desired outcome is to provide people with the knowledge to ensure that they and their dogs stay together by either avoiding or addressing their undesirable behaviors. Ensuring that the approaches are positive for the dog and their owner is a cornerstone of her philosophy!

The chief principles used are intuitive to the dog as they are founded on the science of how dogs learn. These positive training techniques help to reduce stress and build confidence, thereby increasing the dog’s willingness and ability to learn.

Shanon is a certified dog trainer (awarded by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, www.ccpdt.org), a Pat Miller Certified Trainer (PMCT) (www.peaceablepaws.com), a certified Tellington TTouch Practitioner (www.ttouch.com), a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) as well as a member of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Professional Positive Pet Trainers (MAAPPPT). She continues her commitment to keeping dogs and people together through volunteer efforts at local shelters, maintaining relationships with many of the current leaders in the behavior field, as well as with ongoing education in training and behavior modification through workshops, seminars, classes, and conferences.
